Initial Impressions

Blind Cigar Review: Victor Sinclair | Triple Corojo Robusto
Blind Cigar Review: Victor Sinclair | Triple Corojo Robusto

Appearance: 88

“The appearance of this cigar is pretty average, a little lumpy, but no soft spots. The wrapper color is even, but the cap is lopsided and a little sloppy.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

Aroma: 89

“There are notes of hay and leather with a tiny bit of chocolate.” –Milton (mjohnsoniii)

Construction: 89

“The overall construction is not too shabby, albeit not the best either. It appears rather solid with no soft spots. It’s not smooth at all with its profuse veins and a lumpy wrapper. The triple cap applied is slightly tattered but should be fine.” –Milton (mjohnsoniii)

First Third

Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The first third was strong in bakers spice and earthy, rich tobacco. It was a bit hard to start, but had a quality burn line. It produced great smoke.” –Cindy (Ms_CindyLynn)

“Cocoa with a light peppery nutmeg and a sweet tasting tobacco on light up. Further in the pepper fades a bit and the cocoa begins to get creamy tasting.” –Ron (shuckins)

Second Third

Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The same flavors from the first third consisted in the second. The retrohale produced a vanilla/cherry experience.” –Cindy (Ms_CindyLynn)

“This third has really brought out some of the baking spices and eased back on the leather and wood. There’s definitely still a spice, but I want to say it’s more of a clove and cumin spice now. Towards the end some more fruity notes come out, perhaps cherry.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

Final Third

Flavor: 87
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The strength has picked up in this third with some more of the red pepper I got in the first third. The oak has made a nice comeback as well. The finish has become a little salty and is lasting a long time. I didn’t enjoy this third as much as the others, but it was still very good.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

“Finishes with only a hint of creaminess as the pepper shows back up, driving the nutmeg to the rear, but leaving a sweet cedary tobacco flavor ’til the very end.” –Ron (shuckins)

Overall Impressions

Draw: 97

“The draw was so good, the cigar practically smoked itself! Plenty of cool smoke that took no effort to get.” –Ron (shuckins)

Burn: 90

“The burn was very good, only required a minor correction here and there.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 85

“I didn’t get the feeling I was even smoking a hand made cigar at any point during this one. At times, I got inklings of flavor but they quickly disappeared leaving me with an impression of smoking cardboard. This was a smoking experience that I don’t care to remember any time soon.” –Milton (mjohnsoniii)

“In the beginning, the flavors seemed interesting and everything was going well with the cigar. The second third is where it made a wrong turn. The soft spots affected the burn, then affected the taste and the end result. I would try it again to see how it would end up. It seemed like a decent dog- walking cigar.” –Cindy (Ms_CindyLynn)

“This was a great experience, I can’t wait to find out what it was. Technically it performed great and the flavors were all very pronounced and balanced with some nice transitions between thirds. I would recommend this to just about any smoker.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

“A pleasant cigar suited for a mid-morning or after lunch smoke, just needed another gear or two, but I would smoke another.” –Ron (shuckins)
