Initial Impressions

Appearance: 93

“This was a very nice looking cigar, though I cannot put my finger exactly on the size, maybe a lonsdale? A nice dark chocolaty wrapper with a medium amount of veins and a nice semi oily sheen to it. The cap was applied cleanly and looked well situated.” –Paul (pmr1010)

Aroma: 94

“The wrapper gives off a definite pepper and espresso flavor with an earthy flavor from the foot. The pre-light draw is of caramel and earthiness.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

First Third

Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“The cigar starts off with some great flavors and balance. Getting a nice mix of creaminess, coffee, sweetness and earthiness. There is also a unique flavor/mouth feel of a carbonated drink.” –Jason (bigslowrock)

“The initial third started off with quite a bit of pepper that slightly decreased in intensity over the next inch. There were definitely flavors of hay and cedar after the pepper died down. Not many other flavors were discernible in the third. Towards the end of the third, an ash like flavor developed that was not too pleasant. The burn and draw in this third were great with no issues. There was also phenomenal smoke production. The issue however was that the cigar seemed to burn quite fast in this third.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

Second Third

Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“Creamy tasting cedar leads the way, followed closely by a sweet coffee flavor as I smoke the cigar past halfway. There is still a spicy flair present, but the majority is more of an allspice taste than a peppery one.” –Ron (shuckins)

“The oak flavor has kind of softened into more of a light cedar. There is also an added sweetness of honey. Towards the end of the third, the cedar has shifted to leather and there is a slightly citrusy element to the retrohale.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

Final Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The coffee flavor moves forward and takes center stage as the cigar nears the end. The cedar remains creamy tasting even though the allspice brings a healthy helping of zing with it at the very end, giving a gentle kick to the cigar on the finish.” –Ron (shuckins)

“As if a switch was thrown, the final third came on. The second third was less dramatic of a change but the final third was rapid. Leather came in strong with a taste like even more warm salty toasted nuts. No more chocolate at all and no more coffee. There was a very nice evolution even if rapidly changing when it did. Towards the end of this cigar, I began to taste a Cuban like flavor that totally caught me off guard. The draw was great as was the burn line.” –Paul (pmr1010)

“A pretty solid cigar with just enough variations in flavors to keep it entertaining throughout.” –Ron (shuckins)

“I enjoyed this cigar a lot. It’s one of the few cigars that I’ve smoked lately that I smoked down to a point that I almost burned my fingers. At no point was I disappointed or wishing I was smoking something else. A really good cigar!” –Paul (pmr1010)

“This is a well constructed lancero with a good flavor profile. Depending on the price, I would be in the market to pick up a couple.” –Jason (bigslowrock)

“Overall, this was a very one dimensional experience with the predominant flavors being hay and cedar. There are otherwise pleasant flavors, but in this case there was an ash like flavor in the first half of the cigar and in the last inch or so had a bitterness as well as harshness that were very detracting and took away from the enjoyment. Also, the cigar was quite fast burning for its length. Overall, a fair smoke, but probably not one for me.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

“I really, really enjoyed this cigar. The flavor profile was right in my wheelhouse and had tons of transitions to keep me guessing. It performed very well technically with the draw and burn and you couldn’t ask for much better construction. I would definitely recommend this to a seasoned cigar smoker and would buy a box instantly.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
