There’s a new production of Puccini’s famous La Bohéme, but it won’t be playing in any opera house—it will be found in tobacconists. Boutique Blends president Rafael Nodal, has named his newest cigar brand in honor of his favorite opera.

Featuring an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper, La Bohéme is made with Dominican tobacco grown from Cuban seeds and is billed by Nodal as not only being medium- to full-bodied in strength, but completely different from anything in Boutique Blends’ portfolio.

Four sizes range in price from $5.90 to $13.14 and are named after characters from the original 19th century opera: Mimi measures 3 1/2 inches by 46 ring, Pittore, 5 1/8 by 52, Poeta, 5 3/4 by 54 and Musico, 6 1/4 by 60.

The band and box art is taken from a long-discontinued pre-revolutionary Cuban brand and repurposed for this release.

“I wanted to integrate my three most important passions” said Nodal. “My love of music, cigars and Cuba.”

The curtains will go up for La Bohéme at this summer’s IPCPR trade show and the cigars should reach stores by August.
