Initial Impressions

Appearance: 90

“Tonight’s review is a beauty. The tale of the tape reveals measurements of 6 1/8X52. It’s a well done box press with a good shape. Color is a milk chocolate brown with no blemishes or defects. A few tiny wrinkles on the wrapper which is to be expected. Seams look well done. Head is almost flat, and the cap is well placed. Cigar is a bit soft when pressed.” –Robert (NavyPiper)

Aroma: 90

“The aroma is very barnyardy with hay as the predominant flavor, but the dry draw is very interesting with a quite sweet flavor reminiscent of raisins. There is also a slight white pepper to the tip of the tongue.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

First Third

Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The initial third starts off with a lot of hay and cedar, but sadly, the sweet raisin like flavor that I got with the dry puff is not present. The pepper is mild at the beginning but increases in intensity after the half inch mark. The pepper is slightly weird because instead of tingling it is leaving a slight numbness to the tongue. No issues present with the burn or the draw in this third. Overall, a good start so far. The smoke is also creamy and voluminous.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

“After getting settled in and lighting up, I experience flavors of tobacco, spice and some pepper. It’s a nice blend, and leaves a mild heat on the palate and through the sinuses.” –Robert (NavyPiper)

Second Third

Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The middle third has the same flavors of hay and cedar with some leather now adding to the mix. No sweet flavors still. The pepper and numbness to the tongue is decreased now. The burn has skewed and there seems to be some tunneling, however, I wait to see if this corrects itself. No issues with the draw.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

“Allspice moves to the front as the leather begins to fade a bit. A little char returns to balance the baking spice. Halfway through, some grassy notes develop as the leather once again ramps up. The draw opens slightly with a noticeable increase in smoke production.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)

Final Third

Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“”Some bakers chocolate comes into play for the first time. The lingering leather moves into the background allowing some bitter chocolate to develop. The flavors balance nicely. Near the end of the cigar, many of the flavors from the first third return. A little raisin and charred toast along with a little pepper begin to push the leather out completely.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)

“The last third was much of the same. It still had the overall pepper spice along with the same creaminess. There was some bitterness that creeped in during the final third.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)

Overall Impressions

Draw: 94

“The draw was perfect. No complaints at all.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)

Burn: 87

“Burn in the first third was great, went really squirrely in the second requiring a number of touch ups to get it back to somewhat even. Final third it went back to nice and straight just like the first third.” –Robert (NavyPiper)

Construction: 88

“A few cosmetic issues and a tight draw for the first half lowers this score a bit.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)

Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 90

“Overall, this cigar had good flavors and a decent amount of complexity with only one issue with the burn that corrected after a touch up. I will definitely try this one again.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

“Nice transitions of background flavors made me forget there wasn’t any real leader with this cigar. The profile was well balanced despite not having a wow factor. There was a silkiness in the smoke that made for a nice mouth feel and very enjoyable smoke. I would certainly pick up a few to keep on hand.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)

“Overall, it was good. I’d probably use it as a daily smoker. Other than the issues with the burn in the second third, I can’t find any real faults with it.” –Robert (NavyPiper)

“Overall, the cigar was pretty good. I did like the spice and how creamy the cigar was. It produced a lot of smoke and had a great draw. The issue I had with the cigar was there was an off flavor during the smoke that I didn’t care for. I would like to smoke it again and see how it is.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
